Our goal is to be of service to every client. We want to help our clients solve their legal problems by providing knowledgeable and effective legal services and advice. M. Rita graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1993 and has been practicing law for more than 20 years. This firm has helped thousands of injured clients receive the Social Security Disability, Workers Compensation and Personal Injury benefits they have earned and deserve; as well as helping clients who are going through Divorce, Custody, Alimony, Mediation or other Family Law matters, from drafting Separation Agreements and Mediation to lengthy contested Divorce and Custody trials.

Ms. Metts serves as a part-time Magistrate Judge for the Richland County. She is licensed in to practice in all municipal, county, state and federal courts in South Carolina.

Ms. Metts is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives (NOSSCR) to keep her aware of any recent changes to Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income law and to keep improving her advocacy skills for her Disability and SSI clients.

She is a former Assistant Public Defender with the Newberry County Public Defender’s Office, where she honed her litigation and trial skills.

She currently owns and operates the Metts Law Firm, LLC, where she and her staff provide clients with the experience of large law firm with the personal customer service of a small firm.

She is a Certified Family Court Mediator, member of the South Carolina and Richland County Bar Associations, and a member of The National Advocates Top 100 Matrimonial and Family Law Attorneys. She works as the Town Attorney, for Carlisle, South Carolina.
